Ashana & Francine

These are the 2 pieces that I have on display at the  "Empowerment of the Pin-Up" show at the Wallace L. Anderson Gallery in Bridgewater, MA.

:)

I always found beauty in women of color, such vibrancy and strength in a culture that is different than my own... Ashana is the fruition of my appreciation for all the different shades of our earth.

The female figure has always been one of my biggest passions... especially when they are not conformed to today's societal depiction of the "perfect" body. Reminiscent of pin-up in the 1950s & 1960s, I find curves mesmerizing. Wearing your curves, and your body as a whole, with confidence, is incredibly sexy to me. This was the inspiration behind Francine.
