I am going to be an AUNTIE!

So.... I am going to be an auntie in January! Today was the baby shower and my sister asked me to design some take-away cards for the guests. I am truly happy for my sister and husband as their family of two will soon become 3 :).

this has been a fascinating year of transition, growth & travel!

London >> Barcelona>> Nottingham... my 2nd trip abroad, to visit my love's old hometown & friends, with a side treat of the long awaited Spain in the middle. it was bloody cold and epic!

SF >> Oregon... the craziest SF pride ever.. and a chill 4th of July w/ close friends in Ashland, OR

Seattle, WA... to witness my first same sex wedding... in a beautiful cherry orchard amongst the hills.

Los Cabos. MX... our first relaxation-cation... in stunning mexico.

lately, my mind & heart have not been expressing themselves through illustration, rather.... in silent conversations and written & spoken word. this year has been a balance of social-stimulation.. reality checks and quiet nights of deep introspection & learning of myself. my dearest friends and my amazing partner have all been an integral part of my growth... their loving, challenging & inspiring nature. their presence is constantly changing my life. i have found my family.

i've been trying to get back into my creative groove, scouting for local art shows & sketching here and there... a bit scattered-brained these days..but its still in my veins. i feel art is coming soon.

hello there!!

wow.. its been quite some time since i last been here.. as in blog.. as in.. art-minded... the last 6 months have been a whirlwind of amazingness that has taken me to far & away... physically, mentally, soulfully.

San Francisco > Paris >> New York...  all incredible experiences.
SF..always a good time.
Paris...my first trip to europe.. my first vacation. my first solo trip...
NYC...my first time in the east coast.. with a special someone.. :)

my heart has been infused with a plethora of new experiences and memories that have changed my life.. elevated my life.. . and i am so incredibly grateful for all that i have and all that surrounds me.. everyday just keeps getting better & better.

..creative juices have begun to flow again.. as all the experiences from the last 6 months are beginning to sink in.. and drip out on paper. i hope to produce some art soon..


thank you to all those who support my art. thank you to all those who are present in my life and inspire me. i really appreciate you all... really, i mean it.

..so the title of this piece is purely coincidental..

i was going to leave it as untitled for the time being.. i knew what this piece represented to me.. just couldn't think of the right word(s).. that visually complemented the feeling.

and then.. all this talk about rapture.. being today.. i looked up the definition.. and one interpretation of it.. encompassed it.

rapture [rap-cher]: the act of transporting a person from one sphere of existence to another. (for me, emotionally)

yes... and inspired while listening to Comptine d'un Autre Été by Yann Tierson

..now to transfer this onto a candle.... hmmm
